Spinel Gloving Earrings

These earrings are handcrafted out of sterling silver wire with two teardrop-shaped black spinel beads.  Measures  2 and 1/4 inches long.  French hooks.  Liver of Sulfur is used to create an antique finish.

Get to Know Your Stone: 

Spinel forms cubic crystals just like diamonds do, in fact, it gets its name from the Greek word for "sparkle".   It is mostly mined in Burma and Sri Lanka.  These stones are believed to protect against the evil eye by sending negative waves to the one who issues them.
