Get to Know Your Stones:
Amazonite, nicknamed "The Amazon Stone," actually has a long history of utilization in Ancient Egypt, including jewelry and carving. The Egyptians were said to have named it after the Amazon women warriors, treasuring the stone for the courage they believed it evoked. Though Amazonite is found worldwide, it is most commonly mined in Russia, Myanmar, and India.
